Construction Key (yellow):

The first construction key presented to an un-programmed lock will operate the lock until it is programmed. Once the lock is programmed, the construction key automatically becomes invalid in that lock.


Programming Key (red):

The first programming key presented to an un-programmed lock will become the permanent programming key for that lock. This key controls the security of the lock; it must be used whenever programming the lock or retrieving audits from the lock.


User Key (blue, grey):

Allows authorized users (e.g., residents and staff) to lock or unlock the deadbolt. 


Maintenance Key (orange, aka "vendor key"):

Temporary access for limited number of locks and amount of time.
